Fave Five: Atlanta happenings

I just made it Salt Lakah Seetee!

I’m so excited about this vacay! Barreling down a ski slope is one of my favorite ways to relax and right now, I could use some R&R. Check out what’s kept me busy (besides crazy long work hours) these last couple of weeks: 
The Book of Moooormon
If you’ve seen The Book of Mormon, I’m sure you chuckled at that first line. If you haven’t seen it yet, please do yourself a favor and go see it. It’s running at the Fox Theater through this weekend and it is hilarious! I won’t tell you anything about it except that it’s by the creators of South Park. The surprise and shock of seeing it for the first time is part of its amazingness. 

Chris D’Elia
This dude is one of the funniest alive and he, too, is performing in Atlanta through this weekend (at Improv). He’s been on shows like “Workaholics,” “Glory Daze,” and NBC’s “Whitney,” so you know he’s legit. I particularly like his angry Russian skit. 

Winter Wren
The gorgeous boutique filled with brands like Free People, Michael Kors, and Diane Von Furstenburg opened in Virginia Highlands on Thursday, February 6. The grand opening featured ridiculously delicious Genki sushi, live jazz, and the best Cathead vodka cocktails I’ve ever tasted. I request that from now on, all my shopping trips there feature all three of those things (and there will be many trips taken to Winter Wren). 

Cibo e Beve
My new favorite Italian restaurant! It’s been around for awhile and I’m bummed it took me so long to finally try it. The place is cozy and rustic, with the comfiest-looking booths and dark wooden tables. The pastas and pizzas are traditionally made but incorporate creative ingredients, like poppy seed butter and gorgonzola pistachio crema. The small plates are my favorite though: I loved the burrata with basil oil, crispy brussel sprouts with a poached egg, and meatballs with san marzano tomato sauce. 

Chinese New Year 
The hubs and I rang in the Year of the Horse at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Buckhead. The celebration was everything you would want: An actual horse, traditional (not actual) dragons, lanterns and entertainment, and so much food! I pigged out on tried sea bass, duck and beef dishes, and so many pot stickers — I was in foodie heaven. After this ski escapade, I’ll probably make a trip back for a massage at the hotel's luxurious spa (I’ll need it).
