Introducing Atlanta’s inaugural Wing Fest!

There’s a new foodie festival in town: Atlanta Wing Fest! The first-of-its-kind festival is dedicated to chicken wings of all flavors and preparations imaginable and is taking place this Sunday, September 25.

Some of Atlanta’s best restaurants are participating in the festival, including 1Kept, Richard’s Southern Fried, Saltyard, Seven Lamps and Canoe. A number of notable eateries from Charleston, Chattanooga, Nashville and Savannah will also be present, for a total of 25 local and regional restaurants.

Courtesy of Springer Mountain Chicken, the Atlanta Wing Fest couldn’t come at a better time. It’s produced by Taste of Atlanta — my very favorite foodie event of the year — and will serve as a fantastic warm-up to the three-day festival in October. In addition, September is National Chicken Month, which is perfect for getting your fill of chicken wings on a beautiful Sunday, right before watching the big Sunday night football game!

I can’t wait to attend this weekend’s inaugural Wing Fest, and you should join me! General admission tickets are only $25 and include unlimited wing tastes, cash bar and live music. If you prefer a larger variety of adult beverages (think craft beer and the best Southern spirits), the VIP ticket is $50.

Oh yeah, the proceeds benefit Second Helpings Atlanta and Angel Flight Soars, so you can feel good about your day full of eating and drinking.

The event starts at 1:30 pm on Sunday, September 25, at the Foundry at Puritan Mill (916 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. NW). See you there?
